Juniors and Seniors started learning their letters and sounds in September. They reallt enjoyed reading  a story called  "We are  going on a Bear Hunt" Their  favourite part was when they got home safe and sound. The Infants love Treat Friday every week. Infants love going to athletics with Matthew every Thursday for 30minutes. Infants were doing dot art based on the story "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds, they designed lots of beautiful dots.

1st and 2nd  class were studying about Autumn creatures like Hedgehogs and Squirrels! They also learned about hibernation and deciduous trees in SESE. They also did some wonderful artwork on Autumn. Cubism was another area they learned about in art, they learned about Pablo Picasso and and made crazy cubist creations. In religion they learned about Jesus and his 12 Apostles. Along with their class rules they created a beautiful friendship display. They covered a lot of topics in SESE including learning about schools ;long ago and all about their skeletons and muscles. qst and 2nd found all of this very interesting. In P.E they did soccer and did strength and conditioning with Matthew.

During September 3rd and 4th class have been 'ag obair go dian' with their Irish verbs, learning them off perfectly. It was all about place value in maths! Ms O’Callaghan read "A Bad Case of Stripes" to the class which they really enjoyed. 3rd and 4th  drew fabulous self-portraits, they were awesome. They had a fantastic game of dodge ball. They looked like they were pros. In SESE they learned all about habitats! It was super cool! They also became historians for a day and learnt about the ancient celts!!!!!

Our school has continued to do buddies. This is where a 6th  class student is paired with a junior infant, and a senior infant are paired with a 5th class student. It helps the infants to be confident in school knowing they have someone that will listen to them. In September we got up to making leaf people and animals, we showed our buddies the school building and grounds outside and we got to know all about our buddies.

This month we started Roots of Empathy where we sit in a circle around baby Ciara. And we observed how she reacted to different toy and being around new people. Baby Ciara is 3 and ½ month old. The reason why we do this is so we can grow our empathy for each other. We sing a song for baby Ciara as she enters and leave the room. Ciara’s mom brings her around the circle and we each get to say hello and goodbye.
