Physical Education

Physical Education is allocated 1 hour per week of overall teaching time.
P.E. School Plan

The school engages with the six strands of the P.E. curriculum each year. The six strands are: Games, Dance, Gymnastics, Outdoor & Adventure, Aquatics and Athletics.

P.E. Equipment

We store our equipment in the P.E. store room. We audited our equipment at the start of the school year and subsequently purchased more equipment for each class to use on yard and during P.E. lessons. We decorated the school pe doors and labelled all the equipment.

Land Paws

Land Paws is an educational resource that we use to teach about water safety. These lessons cover how to be safe around water in homes, farms, pool, beaches and waterways.

Teaching P.E.

The P.E. curriculum provides a balanced range of activities for children. It contributes to children’s overall development by helping them to lead full, active and healthy lives.
Move Well Move Often is a resource that we use when planning PE lessons. It focuses on the development of fundamental movement skills.

PSSI (Primary Schools’ Sports Initiative) also provide support materials to complement the PE curriculum.
