6th Class STEM Project;
Sixth class were given a design brief to draw, construct and decorate a school building with 7 classrooms. We had to test the stability of the structure and ensure it met all criteria of the design brief. We also considered how it would be possible to reduce the running costs of the school. We looked at renewable sources of energy and fitted the school roof with solar panels. We considered the cost of bus rental and decided to build a swimming pool and gaa pitch on site. Other special features in our school included expandable and retractable flooring to create more space in the classroom if needed. Students considered retaining existing features like Times Square while upgrading the architectural design of the building. Take a look at the wonderful ideas we had in sixth class…

We are enjoying all sports; swimming, gymnastics, golf, football, hurling, spikeball, cycling, walking and fishing. Well done to Eoin on entering the recent Sciath na Scol football competition, a great ambassador for Ballinadee NS. When activities are finished, we sit down in the sunshine and enjoy an ice-cream.

“IRISHMEN AND IRISHWOMEN”
While hurling, the Coakley’s made a discovery in their garden. Read Hannah’s story to find out more. Hopefully, these birds find a fully stocked birdhouse when they are in search of food.
