Second Class Seesaw part 4

This week 2nd class have been working on ‘Capacity’ in maths. They have been busily measuring out litres, ½ litres and ¼ litres.

Much searching was done in kitchens and bathrooms for containers that held 1litre and 500 ml.

In SESE children studied the theme of water and looked at the ways water was used at home. They came up with some very good ‘Water Conservation Tips’.

Definitely the environmentalists of the future!

In English Children were brainstorming nouns, adjectives and verbs. They used these words to write ‘Diamante Poems’-initially on the theme of water and subsequently on a topic of their choice.

Diamante poems are 7 lined poems in the shape of a diamond, which follow a very definite  pattern.

They did an amazing job!
